The Responsible Electronics Recycling Act was reintroduced to Congress in 2013 after failing to make progress in 2011. The act prohibits sending e-waste to developing countries. The act has support of major electronics manufacturers such as HP and Apple. The act would also create new jobs in the recycling industry in the United States.
